Mychal Parker is the founder of the PA Roadrunners. For years, his passion has been to help young athletes become their best both on and off the court. Growing up in North Carolina, Mychal frequently met tough competition – going head-to-head against teams like Word of God (NBA All-Star John Wall), Team Breakdown (Brandon Knight), Jersey Roadrunners (Kyrie Irving), Team Toronto (Tristan Thompson), SCA All Stars (Brandon Jenning, Renardo Sidney), and All Ohio Red (Jared Sullinger).
He went on to become an ESPN Top 50 Player and McDonald All American Nominee in high school. In 2010, he took his career to the University of Maryland, playing under Hall of Famer Gary Williams. After joining other collegiate programs, he became an NAIA D1 National Champion in 2013, and an NCAA DIII Regular Season and Conference Champion in 2015. Summer of 2015, he received an overseas contract to play in Finland with Forssan Koripojat (FoKoPo). After retiring as a player, Mychal joined an AAU program in Massachusetts where he coached athletes ranging from Middle School to Varsity. He also joined the staff of the Walpole, MA Boys Varsity Basketball team as Assistant Head Coach for two years. Mychal now resides in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife Mia and two young children, Mychal Parker II and McKynlee. His focus is on developing a culture of elite competition. He’s committed to making PA Roadrunners a team that doesn’t just compete in Pennsylvania, but all across the country. So, if you’re determined to TRULY compete amongst the best – come join us today. As Coach Mych would say, “Let’s work – IT'S US AGAINST THE WORLD!”.
